Admin Power Hour - Wednesday afternoons, term time

Women Holding Hands

Welcome to the Magpie Minds Focus Hour - we'd love you to join us.

What's on offer? A supportive, zero-cost gathering online every Wednesday afternoon during UK school term time only for AHPs with ADHD. We're not just doing admin together; we're building consistency, productivity,, self-understanding, and mutual support.

Our Session Flow:

  • Warm Welcome and Check-in (4:45 pm).  Arrive, share your session goals, and feel the collective energy. This initial touchpoint sets the stage for an hour of focused productivity, enveloped in camaraderie.

  • Dedicated Focus Time (5 pm on the dot).  Engage in two 25-minute sprints of pure focus, separated by a 5-minute breather. Whether it's the calming influence of music through headphones or the silent solidarity of your peers, find your zone and flourish.

  • Community Spirit. With our virtual team room, we encourage keeping cameras and mics on when possible. It enhances the sense of togetherness and accountability. Missed the mark in the first sprint? The second one offers a fresh start, no fuss or apologies necessary.

  • Essential Movement Break. We advocate stepping away from your screen after the first focus sprint. A little stretch or walk can work wonders.

  • Gentle Closure (6 pm). We round off with a brief reflection on our progress. It's a moment to acknowledge our efforts and the support that made them possible.

Why Join the Focus Hour? Because it's more than an admin session. It's a commitment-free opportunity to harness the strengths of the Pomodoro Technique, Body Doubling, and the Hawthorne Effect, all within a community that champions your success. And the best part? It's entirely free. Regular attendance not only boosts your productivity but also fosters habit formation, providing a foundation for lasting change.

Beyond Productivity. Imagine closing your Wednesday with a lighter load and a fuller heart, knowing you've not only advanced through your tasks but also connected with a circle of peers who cheer you on. The Magpie Minds Focus Hour is your weekly pause from the hustle - a space where achievements are celebrated, and every attempt is applauded.

Ready to embrace a new way of working? Join our Magpie Minds Focus Hour . Let's tackle those daunting tasks together, in a community that uplifts and understands, one focused hour at a time.

Find what works: exploring what's out that there that could make a difference for all aspects of your life

Business Meeting

Feel like you need some specific ideas and strategies to get things under control, but not sure what to try? Every month, you can access two different ways to explore and experiment to find what works for your unique context.  In our monthly on-demand webinars, you'll find current research and ideas about different aspects of ADHD research to help you get a clearer sense of how ADHD is showing up in your life and your work.  The recordings are short but packed with information, and you can download a recording to listen to as a mini-podcasts when you're on the road, or take a deeper dive with the additional resources and material curated every month to meet your CPD requirements.  More importantly, we also put together short and user-friendly videos all under 3 minutes with ideas and suggestions as stepping stones towards finding the specific tools and strategies that work for you in your clinical setting, and helping you to get them in place and running consistently.

How We Roll

  • Curated Selections. Ditch the info overload. You don't need more options, you need to know about the ones that work - and to talk to people who are already using them. We've done the legwork to bring you a streamlined selection of strategies and tools that pack a punch.

  • Access information as and when you need it, with a variety of formats and options.  How deep you go is entirely up to you.

  • Support for your questions and thoughts - regular "Ask Me Anything" sessions with Amy Stephens and the rest of the Magpies crew to share ideas and thoughts to find how to make strategies work for you.  We invite you to step into a warm and positive community where you know that when you are finding things hard, you'll have the support and understanding of other AHPs with similar lived experiences.  Here, shaming and self-recrimination are out the window— only empathy, backing, and hearty cheers. It's about bolstering each other, sharing victories, and navigating hurdles without an ounce of judgment.

Why Tag Along?

  • Bespoke Topics.  Each session is meticulously designed with the unique hurdles of AHPs with ADHD in mind to ensure the most value for your commitment of time.

  • Tangible Outcomes. Through practical application and steadfast accountability, you'll get into your professional groove and be able to track how things are starting to flow more easily.

  • A Network of Colleagues. Connect with fellow AHPs who share your experiences and challenges, fostering a sense of belonging and mutual support.

Pay-as-you-go.  We are in this to support and build a community of UK and Irish AHPs with ADHD.  We know full well that if you sign up for a year,  you'll forget about it along with all the other sneaky subscription renewals that are keeping you broke.  So pay as you go to keep your commitment to yourself front and centre.

Your journey to mastering your professional life understanding where your ADHD is an asset instead of a disadvantage starts here. Let's navigate the path to success together.

ADHD Coaching - One-to-one Support and Mentoring that works

Change

ADHD Coaching for AHPs

Coaching is not about fixing; it is rooted in the belief that every individual is creative, resourceful, and whole. A coaching conversation feels very different from things like clinical supervision, line management, or counselling.  According to the International Coach Federation (ICF), it’s a partnership grounded in trust and respect, where the coach supports the coachee to navigate their own path forward, helping them to identify what’s important and relevant, evaluate their options, and plan how to move ahead. It is about tapping into what allows you to navigate life with a clearer sense of agency and choice. We talk about coaching being future focused, giving us the support to point ourselves in the direction we want to go starting from this point forward.

Crucially,  coaching is about tangible, measurable real-world changes.  It is about moving from thinking to doing, taking action and making meaningful progress towards how you want your life and work to be.  ADHD coaching can lead to improved executive function as well as changes in self-esteem and overall wellbeing .

Areas of Focus in ADHD Coaching

When you come to ADHD coaching, anything and everything that is making you feel stuck or overwhelmed is up for support, in a confidential and truly supportive partnership.  For many, ADHD coaching is the first time in their lives when they have felt that someone else truly "gets" them, and that there's the prospect of things being different moving forward.  We work on whatever is important to you on any given day.   Some of the key areas that often come up include:

  •   Time Management and Organisation

Recognising the individuality of each person's relationship with time and tasks, and exploring strategies that are tailored to you.

  •   Navigating Work-Life Harmony

Finding a rhythm to balance your professional responsibilities and personal wellbeing - managing your spoons - and embracing stress management not just as a goal but as an ongoing practice.

  •   Career Development

Considering career growth not just in terms of upward mobility, but growing within your current role and setting, creating opportunities where your ADHD way of engaging with the world is not just accepted and accommodated, but celebrated and harnessed.

  •   Finding your Voice

Cultivating communication skills that allow for authentic self-expression and advocacy within professional settings, embracing your unique voice.

  •   Leveraging Creativity and Innovation

Valuing the innovative and creative potential that comes with ADHD, seeing it as a resource rather than a challenge.  For many, there is a journey from frustration and self-annoyance, through understanding and insight, to a realisation that ADHD gives your clinical work an advantage.

You can use funding from an Access to Work grant for ADHD coaching - and you do not need to have had a formal diagnosis/confirmation of ADHD to apply for this support.

Whether you are looking for a one-off session to just recentre and recover your equilibrium, or would like a few sessions around a specific area or planned change, or would like support and development over a longer period, we offer a range of options and all the flexibility you need as an AHP with ADHD.
